Lightrooom Classic Not launching

I am unable to get Lightroom Classic to launch. I do not get an error message it just won't open. I did have a problem in the middle of last month where I had to have the catalog repaired and it worked fine. Now when I try to launch it won't open. I went and deleted locked files I saw per other posts I read. It still won't launch. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it still won't launch. I don't know what to do anymore.

A separate inquiry, but related

I will assume that you have a LrC startup icon down in your Taskbar.

Hold down on the ALT key while clicking on that LrC startup icon. A Select catalog screen should appear. Select a new catalog. Does LrC start (in a new catalog)

Or as JohanElzenga described above.

Your catalog could be corrupted, and uninstalling/reinstalling does not deal with the catalog. So try this: temporarily rename your catalog folder, so Lightroom can no longer find it. Then when asked, create a new catalog and see if Lightroom does finish the start successfully with that.

I tried renaming it, but it does not help since Lightroom won't launch. It's not asking me anything.

First up, can you attempt to launch LrC in the following manner

  1. Do not start LrC (in this test) by clicking (double clicking) on a startup icon.
  2. Use Windows File Explorer, to navigate to your catalog.
  3. Delete any lock file.
  4. Double click on the catalog

After doing that:

  1. Does the LrC splash screen appear
  2. If the Splash screen appears, does it get stuck at reading preferences.
  3. Or did nothing happen.

I have tried launching from Windows and not the icon nothing happens. I renamed the file with adding update to it. up until the backup, that portion won't let me rename to update. I have the same catalog with different dates not sure if I need all of these of course the updated version was my last backup on 8/28.

Your screenshot indicates that the catalog files are in some synced folder, and syncing is not finished for some files. That may well be your problem. Do not store your catalog in a synced folder like Dropbox or OneDrive. We often hear that people get into troubles with that.
