loss in image quality while importing jpeg

The photos imported into my iPhone photo library  show 13MP 4496x3000 3MP. 
now when I open LR mobile and the same pic without even tweaking/using LR features shows file info as 6.5MP 3114x2078 730KB.... Is there an actual drop in resolution?

"iPhone photo library"- is that the Mac 'Photos' App?  (I'm not a Mac user)

It is known that if you add photos to the Apple Photos App then the original files are effectivly hidden in a special package/folder that Lightroom-Classic cannot access. When you try to import to Lr-Classic you will only get smaller 'preview' files that the Photos App provides.

Research this problem for answers that might apply to your situation.
