Lost images from Library

Running LR 14.5. All of a sudden a large numer of images are gone, with the message:

“_MG_2137-Edit.tif” could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?

They can be located, with an appropriate response! What happened??

Is this a fixable problem?

I now have more specific information! The lost images (blank in LR!) are ALL from ones processed in other Adobe photo software that fed the processed image back into LR! To verify, current ON1 swr correctly feeds back altered images into LR library. Is the prblem due to the "old Swr" is no longer on the system?? I am not aware of having deleted photo swr, but I have been using LR for decades.

Whether or not other software is on the system has no effect on Lightroom Classic.

This happens because you (accidentally?) moved, renamed or deleted the photo (or folder that contains it) outside of LrC. Instructions on how to fix: https://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm
