Lost my catalogue in update!

I logged into LR Classic this morning and a message popped up with an update and that I should back-up my catalogue, which I did, however, all my photos have disappeared! When I open LRC now it is empty! What have I done? I chose to back-up to Google Drive rather than Cloud, is that why? Can I reverse it?

Most likely the wrong catalog file has been upgraded. Try File->Open Recent and select the catalogs shown there, each one will probably have to be upgraded.

If that doesn’t work, please find your correct catalog file on your hard disk (using your operating system) and double-click on that to open it and upgrade it. If you are not sure where your catalog file is located, use your operating system’s search feature to search all disk(s) and all folders for files whose name ends with .LRCAT. Probably the largest of the files found this way is the one you want to open.

Just open it in Lightroom. Or you can double-click on it in your operating system to open it. When you try to open a catalog that needs to be upgraded, a message will appear on your screen asking if you want to upgrade it. You click “OK” or “Upgrade” or whatever the affirmative answer is.

Hi @dartmoorsj, you had posted in the Lightroom ecosystem Community. I've moved the post to the Lightroom Classic Community.

Have you tried looking for the catalog under the File menu, then Open Recent? Also, try the location where you store your catalogs to see if you can find it there.
