Question

loupe view at 100% unstable

I have three images selected in the Library Loupe view.  As I use the keyboard arrows to move from image to image the location of the displayed crop of the image moves around.  One of the images is wildly off from the other two.  The images are approximately the same size crop of an original, but not exactly.

I'm doing this to compare the detail of a feature in three different processes of the image.

What is the expected behaviour in this case?

Thanks,

Chris

Hey all, I just discovered a selection in the view menu called "Lock zoom position".  Zoom lock can be enabled/disabled there.  This will probably fix my problem

Thanks,

Chris

I have the same problem. For example, when I zoom in on one photo and move to another, Lightroom should zoom in on the same spot. When I start to switch back and forth, the zoom changes to a random position. When I move the cursor to the navigation panel, the zoom returns to the original position.

Even though you have three images with nearly identical crops, the viewable area in Library Loupe is governed by the Navigator Panel settings. Navigator views are set independently by image.  You would need to set the Navigator view on the 'off' image to be the same as the other two.

Rikk, thanks.  That helps, but...

When I use the navigator to move the zoom to a similar view it may not 'stick'.  I can scroll through the three images and the view will jump around to unexpected positions.  If I move the pan (hand) cursor over the navigator box without clicking, the view snaps to the correct position.  Next time I scroll to that image, it may or may not be in the same position.

Is anybody seeing this post?  Just want to know if the question is clear.

Thanks,

Chris

When you view an image larger than Fit view (like 100%), LrC will remember what part of the image you're viewing, and use this view the next time. This happens in both Library and Develop. So this is expected behaviour.

Compare view (press C with two or more images selected) will display the same part of the image in both images.

Use the arrow keys (or click the arrows in the toolbar) to display a different (selected) image on the right.

Thanks for the reply.

I feel that's not what I'm seeing using Loupe (pressing E).  If I scroll through the images at 100% using the arrow keys, a different portion of the images is displayed.  If I drag the box in the navigator to a similar position, that position moves when I scroll away and back.
