Question

LR 15.1 won't import mp4

HI, suddenly I can't import MP4 files (from two different cameras) into lightroom.  It has been working for years without issues until today.  The only thing that changed is that when I launched LR today it asked me to log in which it never does.

I rebooted, updated to 15.1 LR, logged in and tried to import and I get the following message:

 

 Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for reaching out. To help us narrow down what’s changed, could you please share a few more details?

  • System Info from Lightroom Classic Help menu (Help > System Info > Copy-Paste the whole report here)

  • Camera models that recorded the MP4 files

  • Have you confirmed the files play normally outside Lightroom (for example in Movies & TV / VLC)?

  • Are the MP4s stored on a local drive, external drive, or network location?

Hi, thank you, that is the strange thing, nothing changed on my end.  I had the error prior to the 15.1 upgrade and it continued after.

 

Camera models are Canon R6 MKii and DJI Air 4s and both were working fine before, and in fact continue to be playable in LR from past successful imports.

 

Files play normally in Adobe Bridge and any other program I try.

 

Files are stored on the local drive.  I coppied them there first, then over wrote them once the error showed up and tried again to no effect.

Also, I just updated the Nvidia driver and checked out that thread you sent, there are no / in the names or other strange charactors. 

 

Rebooted and tried again, still getting the error.
