LR 3.6 suddenly stopped starting up

I have used LR 3.6 for many years on the same PC. The funtionality is quite sufficient for my needs.

Suddenly I get an error message ´OPENING CATALOG xyz.lrcat´ and the program doesn´t start.

I suspect I may have used this catalog on a USB last time I was editing. However I can not find it in my backup USB´s. Is there a way to change the ´default startup catalog´.

    Can you describe your problem in more details?

    Which operating system do you use?

    Which version of Lightroom do you use

    Please post the exact version numbers.

    Which error message do you get? Can you please post a screenshot?

    Hello, thank you for the reply. I use an old Lightroom 3.6 since many

    years which is fine for my needs. I run a PC with Windows 10.

    In the attachment I have made a screenshot when trying to start LR.

    Press Option-Key (on a Mac) or Ctrl-Key (Windows) when LR is starting .It will display the "Select Catalog" dialog.
