Question

LR and raw files

Hi - yesterday I was helping a friend who is recovering from a serious illness get to grips with a camera she bought about three years ago.  It's a Panasonic FZ100002.  We did a few test shots with the setting on raw and then subscribed her to the photography bundle of LR and Photoshop so she could learn editing.  Unfortunately, once I had set up LR for her and tried to import the images, LR did not recognize the raw files - only previous jpegs she had on her memory card which was SDXC.  Any ideas please?  I'm assuming that as this was a new subscription the software is the latest one from Adobe.  Is it anything to do with the memory card - personally I only use SD cards in my own camera and not SDXC like she had.  Would that make a difference?  Any help to resolve this gratefully received!  She also works on a PC (whereas I use a Mac)  would that affect anything - I'm assuming not, but asking just in case there is a solution there?

The FZ1000M2 is supported since Classic 8.2.1 and Desktop 2.2.1, which both have been released quite some time ago. That said, even if you did not install the latest version, that should work.

Did you have some additional setting in the camera activated, i.e. compression or whatever?

Are you using Lightroom or Lightroom Classic? Also, please let us know the exact version you are seeing in the About of the Help menu or, even better, post the System Information available from the Help menu.

Thank you for your reply. I am not seeing this lady again for a few days so cannot access the information straight away (she is not very computer literate so won't be able to find it). As soon as I have the information I will respond again. Thanks again.
