LR can't open CR2 files anymore after opening a set of NEF files

I have been using Lightroom with canon camera with CR2 files, I opened one set of NEF files from a Nikon and now I can no longer open any of my CR2 files. I did the update and LR still won't recognize  my CR2 files. Anyone experience this? Did I do something by opening a NEF file? Thanks in advance!

    What is the exact wording of the error message?

    Check your Destination panel in the Import dialog. Make sure it is pointing to where you expect. Make sure you have read and write access to the destination folder.
