LR CC Quit unexpectedly - will not launch

When trying to launch LR on my iMac an error message pops up "LR Quit unexpectedly" (and will not launch).    After hitting Reopen a number of times an error message comes up "LR encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit".   Im still not able to access LR.  Help!

    I think there's a problem with the preview chache.
