First, try disabling GPU in the preferences (Performance). Any better?

If the GPU and display profile isn't causing the problem, see:

My wife started having the same issue on her PC.  Copied files from SD to C: and it imports fine.  Copy time was normal, so I don't think it's an issue with the SD reader.  Tried a different SD card with <20 images on it and it still hung.

Unfortunately, it doesn't matter if I have an SD reader/card attached to the computer. It took > 5 minutes just to select a folder from on my PC with no SD reader attached.

I'll second the issue with the file import process in LRC 12. When I try to enter the import screen, the UI is unresponsive for several minutes just to bring up the Source panel, even if I don't have a card or camera attached. I am typically importing from SD cards through a USB3 reader.

It is importing if I'm patient, but this is painfully slow. This wasn't an issue in previous versions.

So far, I haven't seen performance issues in other parts of the program. Running Windows 11 (had same issue on this PC with Win 10, prior to upgrading) on a Ryzen 5 3600, 32GB RAM, nvidia RTX3060.
