I used the map module before, but the map module hasn't been displaying images for a while now.
More specifically: flags are not visible on the map

What version of your OS are you using?
Some issues occur depending on the combination of your OS and Lightroom version.

Hi @GA_BP,

Thanks for confirming your OS details. A couple of quick things to check for the Map module:

• Make sure you are connected to the internet. The Map module relies on online map services and won’t display correctly offline

• Check if Address Lookup is enabled

  • Go to Catalog Settings > Metadata

  • Ensure Address Lookup is enabled

Additionally, please ensure that it is not paused. You may toggle the pause and play controls to initiate the service, just in case.

Also try:

• Select a few images with GPS data

• Deselect and reselect them

• Then go back to the Map module and zoom in/ out

If flags still don’t appear:

• Confirm if this happens with all images or only some

• Let me know if you’re using any firewall/VPN, or if changing the wifi/ mobile hotspot makes any difference.

We’ll take it from there.

Best regards,

Anshul Saini

Yeah, it’s been my experience that sometimes you need to select the images on and off to get the map module working. I have no idea why that is, but once it’s working, it’s pretty good.

It never has; it only shows the map. It shows where your images were taken (assuming you have a GPS chip in your camera, or you’ve manually placed your non-GPS images where they were taken). If you click on the flag(s) on the map, you can see the images in the thumbnails at the bottom of the screen. Alternatively, you can click on the thumbnail(s), and that flag will show up brighter.

Thank you! The flags are not visible on the map. GPS data exists for the image.
