LR Classic 15.4.1 trying to sync 75,000 images, when I've only set 4,000 to sync

Since updating to 15.4.1, LR Classic (on Mac Tahoe) is stuck trying to sync 74,000 images, even though I only have 4,400 images in albums marked to sync. I’ve tried both deleting and rebuilding sync data, but the problem pops right back up.

Anyone seeing this? Ideas?

PS - it’s been sitting for 12 hours, but the numbers don’t change. No further images upload.
