LR Classic 7.2 slows down when NAS is switched on

Since the recent upgrade to LR Classic 7.2 I'm experiencing the following:

- when working with the data on my local disks, everything is fine

- when mounting my NAS (3 TB USB disk, attached to my Router) LR will slow down after a few minutes

This disk holds older images, which don't have space on my disks within my PC anymore.

They are part of my catalogue.

When this happens every action, i.e. moving between folders and showing the images, adding images to collections, editing tags etc. is incredible slow.

This didn't happen in the previous version and I've not changed anything else from the old to the new version.

It looks like LR is doing some reading on the NAS disk, because the LED of the disk starts flashing regularly, like during read/write access.

When closing LR, the disk will flash for an other 30-60 secs and when trying to dis-mount it, Windows says, that there are still files in use.

After the 30-60 secs it stops and dis-mounting doesn't bring a warning anymore.

Does anyone expierence the same?

Any ideas, what's going on?

    - USB 3

    - Router is connected via 1 GB LAN

    - pictures are part of the catalogue

Again: everything was working fine, before the upgrade from 7.1 to 7.2 and the setup didn't change.

In the meanwhile I found the issue: Switching off Sync with LR CC stops the behaviour and everything is fine.

Does your router have USB 3?

How fast is you LAN connection? Is your computer hard wired to the router or are you using a wireless connection to it?

Do you store images on the NAS and are those images imported into LR?

Does the NAS, the drive letter for it, show up in the LR Folders section of the Library module?

If the drive letter does show up in the LR Folders section then LR is trying to access it and possibly writing data to it or reading data from it.
