Question

LR Classic cannot resync photos after re-install

Hi all,

This is my first post here and I am a little bit baffled by Lightroom Classic's sync issues after re-installing. To sum up the situation:

- I had a Lightroom classic catalog with 86,607 pictures stored on my hard drive and smart previews synced in the cloud. Then my Mac died, so I sent it to Apple for repair.

- In the meantime, I reinstalled my Lightroom Classic catalog on another computer and I uploaded 1,012 pictures on Adobe's server via Lightroom CC (not classic).

- Then I got my Mac back and re-installed everything. My 1,012 pictures are downloaded correctly but it seems that my 86,607 pictures that were here before are not in sync anymore. When I edit them in the cloud or in Classic, it doesn't sync. And I cannot upload any other picture (I tried to upload a batch 245 pics and it's been stuck syncing for two days).

I tried to rebuild sync data (preferences -> Lightroom sync -> option key), but no luck either.

Does anyone know what I can do? I don't want to re-upload everything because I have plenty of shared albums that I cannot touch…

Enclosed is a screenshot of what it looks like now…

Thank you very much for your help.

Did you reload your original Catalog from which the 87k images were Sync'd? (Once you got your Mac back?)

You cannot Sync from more than one Catalog . . .

Hence I'm thinking thats why your seeing the 1012 images and not the 87k images . . .

Hi Tony, thank you very much for your help. So essentially, I would remove all the original 86K images from the All Synced Photographs in LR Classic, delete the smart preview from LR CC and then re-upload? Is there a way I don't lose my shared albums in this?
