Question

LR Classic (LR 6) download from product page or cd won't work.

I have been using Lightroom 6 I downloaded from a cd that I purchased in 2018. I recently got a new Windows 11 computer, uninstalled LR 6 from my old computer, and attempted to download LR 6. I went to my Adobe account, went to my LR 6 product, and attempted to download from there on three different browsers. Well, that installation link is no longer functional. Big surprise. I then tried to download LR 6 to the new computer via the original cd. The .exe file has the same issue. The installation link is not functional there either.

Apparently, Adobe has decided to try to force everyone to buy a monthly subscription for the cloud-based version of Lightroom Classic. I can't really do that as I am retired and on a fixed income, and every dollar counts. Is there ANY way to force that LR 6 cd to download to my Windows 11 computer? My daughter gifted the computer to me, and I'd really like to be able to use it for my only hobby - photography. Thank you for your assistance!

Pro Design Tools maintains links to the Adobe downloads for Lightroom 6. There isn't any support from Adobe, so these links could stop working at any time:

Thank you, but that link is for Lightroom CC. I have Lightroom Classic (LR 6) and it has a lot more and better features than LR CC. And that link is for Lightroom CC from 2015.

Hi Tom,

Lightroom CC 2015 and Lightroom 6 are one and the same. The only difference in naming at that time refers to how the program was licensed. If licensed with a serial number, it is LR 6; if licensed with a subscription, it is LR CC. The names have changed a lot since then, creating much confusion, and what is now Lightroom (cloud ecosystem) did not exist at all in 2015. There was only one Lightroom back then, with two different licensing options.
