LR classic sync is very slow/hangs

Question

I am trying to use LR classic with Adobe Portfolio.

I was able to sync a new collection into Adobe Portfolio but cannot update it.

When I add a new picture (NEF) to the LR collection which has sync enabled, the sync seems to hang. I think it is stuck on the metadata and don't know what to do. It is pretty unusable at this point.

Do you have any suggestion?

M1 mac mini running Ventura 13.6

Adobe Lightroom Classic 13.0.1

sync details/errors: Metadata (pretty useless information provided)

I removed an album from adobe portfolio, quit LR without backup and restarted LR. In the process I lost a collection so I had to recreate it from memory, but now sync seems to work. I guess the other drastic step would have been to 'delete all sync'd data' which hopefully would not delete anything in LR classic itself.

It is all a mystery but a restart helped.
