LR Crashed. Lost current project. Any way to get it back?

LR just crashed. (LR Classic CC on Mac OS 10.13.6) My last catalog backup was 3 days ago. When I reopened LR, my last project was not there at all. I still have the files, but all of my work is gone. Any way to restore it? Sadly, I was not automatically generating .xmp files. There are a couple of files in my catalog folder that were created today, .lrcat-wal and .lrcat.lock. Can these be of any use? Thanks.

Trash the .lock file. That will prevent Lightroom from opening the catalog. Then double click on the catalog file (the .lrcat file) to make sure that Lightroom starts with the correct one. It sounds like Lightroom may have opened an old catalog or created a new one, because a crash should not result in work being lost like that.

    Hi Briannejedly,

We're really sorry to hear about this, could you check if you restore the time machine back up?

By default LR stores the backup in a sub-folder called Backups in the same folder as the catalog file.

I do not use time machine. I have the most recent backup in the Backups folder, but like I said, it was from three days ago, so I have lost all of the work I did yesterday and today. Not cool.

When you open your current catalogue, is there nothing I did recently in there? Lr should be saving all your changes in the background all the time...
