LR Display Freezes and usually doesn't return

I am using the latest and greatest version of LR 8.4.1.   LR will start like normal, and I will begin to edit photos, but then the display will blank and usually not return.   When I restart my computer, the catalog will be locked (I just erase the lock file) and none of the files are changed.

I use W10 Pro, Dual 4k monitors, 7700k CPU w/32Gb ram, 5700XT GPU and a 10Gb connection to my server.  My catalog files are on a 2nd NVME drive on my computer.    I have never had an issue with the configuration before the update to LR 8.4.1.

In the first step please try switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

The next try is to reset the Lightroom preferences to the default settings.

Is your system, esp. the driver for the graphic card up-to-date? If no, please install the latest version of the driver and check again.
