Question

LR does not show all folders in the navigation panel.

LR does not see all of the folders in my Photographs directory.  However, all of the images from the folders in question are visible in the Library>grid view.  There are approximately 120K images in the catalog.  There are probably 100 folders not showing up in the navagation panel, even though they are in the Photographs directory with all of the other folders that do show, and the images from the unseen folders are visible in the Library>grid and loupe view.  The folders in question are not "hidden" or "read only" and as near as I can tell, have the same permissions as other folders.  Is there some kind of a folder threshold in LR catalogs?

Depending on your display settings, LR can show at most about 1500 lines in the Folders panel (and the Collections and Keyword List panels as well).  Do you think you have that many, and are the folders not displaying at the bottom of the list?

The only workaround is to introduce a hierarchy of folders and then keep most of the parent folders collapsed in the Folders panel, so it never tries to display more than about 1500 lines.
