LR edits not showing in PS properly

Hi everyone,  I am having an issue with LR and PS - not sure if you can help. I always start editing in LR, then send to PS for detailed edits. For some reason, the image that I send does NOT look the same once it goes to PS. Not sure if this is a LR or PS issue so I'm asking here to cover my bases. Can anyone help?

Image on left was edited in LR, namely an adjustment brush on the grey seamless on the floor. When I send to PS, it changes it to black and other color/light is off too. THOUGHTS?

Hi Dlars1230,

Sorry that images are appearing different while edited in Photoshop from Lightroom.

Color management is what causing your image to change its appearance while it is moved to Photoshop for further editing. Another culprit could be the corrupt monitor profile or a non calibrated display that can cause different applications to show different colors causing this inconvenience.

I'd recommend that you take a look at this detailed article https://lightroomkillertips.com/keeping-your-color-consistent-between-lightroom-and-photoshop/ and let us know if that helps.

Here's a similar discussion that might help you understand and resolve the issue: Lightroom > Edit In > Photoshop Colour Inconsistencies

Thanks,

Akash

Do you mind sharing this exact image via dropbox? Is this the only image that you are seeing this issue or can you reproduce it on any image?

Color management does not cause images to change appearance – it makes sure that images appear the same.

When that doesn't happen, it's usually caused by a defective monitor profile.

Please don't post links to this article - it contains wrong and misleading information. (see Re: Lr cc to Photoshop cc automatic colour changes )

The working space in Photoshop does not need to be ProPhoto, and embedded profiles from Lightroom do not need to match Photoshop's working space.

As long as Preserve embedded profiles is checked in the PS Color settings, the working space is only applied to untagged files and to new files created in Photoshop. So if the PS working space is set to Adobe RGB, and a ProPhoto file is opening from Lightroom, it will open in ProPhoto.

dlars1230 – try setting the monitor profile to sRGB (use Adobe RGB if you have a wide gamut monitor).

If that fixes the issue, you shold ideally calibrate your monitor with a hardware calibrator.

So, I tried to calibrate like you suggested but the issue is still present.  I'm using an Apple iMac which is 3 years old.  It should still be fine, but could it be going on me?  Please say no.  LOL

What would you suggest I do next?
