Question

LR showing the same lens as two different lenses

Using a tamron 70-300 lens and when i applied lens profile corrections, on about half of them lightroom couldn't apply the correction because it couldn't find the correct profile. As soon as i selected the make, it figured out the model. When i got to sort the photo by the metadata, under lenses it shows up twice.

once as the correct full lens with make and model. But also just as a generic 70-300mm lens.

Is this a glitch in LR? In the lens? Is there some way to tell LR that those are all the same lens and have the filter options in the metadata show up correctly?

Tamron has more than one 70-300 lens. Which one do you use and with which mount/camera?

What is your exact (numbers, not 'latest' or alike) version of LR?

There are some Tamron lenses that share the same internal ID, but that seems not to be the issue here.
