LR suddenly extremely slow and freezing on MacOS

Hi there,

LR Classic 13.4 is suddenly runnnig extremly slow, freezes and crashes on Mac OS 14, Version: 14.5.0. on an MBA M1, 8 GB Ram Maschine that's been fine for years.

It takes ages just to load a picture in Dev. Module (spinning wheel of Death), changes in Dev. Module result in the same behavior, export to jpeg only works for single files and also suddenly takes ages. With multiple files LR freezes and has to be restartet.

Have allready optimized the catalog multiple times, restartet LR multipile times and restartet the computer multiple times.

Am completly at a loss what's causing this, haven't had this problem before. LR Systemreport shows plently of memory available.

Try resetting the preferences of Lightroom Classic:   https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:

https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/preference-file-and-other-file-locations.html

If you've enabled the synchronisation, disable the sync and check if it's help.

My System: Intel i7-8700K - 64GB RAM - NVidia Geforce RTX 3060 - Windows 11 Pro 25H2 -- LR-Classic 15 - Photoshop 27 - Nik Collection 8 - PureRAW 6 - Topaz Photo AI

I believe the Problem was the result of a "corrupted" cache. After deleting the Cache and resetting the cache size available memory actually decreased, but LR startet working again.
