is There somethign in LR classic i changed by accident?

thanks in advance

You stated OS is up to date. Does that mean Catalina?

If so,  following might apply, if not Catalina, following does not apply

Outside if Lightroom Classic, on the MACOS bring up System Preferences, select Security and Privacy, select Privacy , then scroll down to Files and Folders. For Lightroom Classic, and while you are at it, for Photoshop, make sure all shown options are checked. Thes File and Folders options show up when the program first attempts to access folders, and if you did not select yes to the prompt the OS displays, the option shows up unchecked, dissaproved,

Just check and make sure that your files that you want to import are writable - meaning in the properties - Attributes of the file that the checkbox is not marked as 'Read-only'. Perhaps this is the problem. It's the only thing I can think of.

It would help if you stated the complete exact word-for-word error message.
