LR5 and Fuji X-T20

I just bought my wife the X-T20.  LR5 does not recognize the files and thus we cannot download files to LR to edit.  Can anyone help, please?  Thanks!

To import raw files directly from the Fujifilm X-T20 requires LR CC 2015.9 / 6.9 or later. But you can use the free Adobe DNG converter to convert the raw files to DNG before importing them: Troubleshoot Adobe Camera Raw Compatibility Photoshop Lightroom

The last update to Lightroom 5 (5.7.1) was in December 2014.

Support for the Fujifilm x-T20 was introduced in March 2017.

    LR 5 will never import Fuji X-T20 RAW files directly. You'd have to use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert your RAWs to DNGs, and then those will import into LR 5.

    The alternative is to upgrade (pay money) to Lightroom Classic CC.

      That model is to new to be supported by any version of Lightroom 5. You can download the DNG converter. It is a free standalone program that will convert your raw files to the DNG format. Those files can then be used in Lightroom 5. Otherwise, you could purchase Lightroom 6 and install the final 6.14 update, which will support that camera model. There will be no more updates to Lightroom 6, but you will have full support for the RAF files from that new camera. The other option would be to subscribe to the Creative Cloud photography plan, which includes Lightroom and Photoshop. Both programs are continually being updated under the Creative Cloud plan.
