LRC 11.2 using External drive and Onedrive for storage

Hi - I'm new on LRC 11.2 and would like like to run my system as follows if I can.

I would like to plug camera into computer (HP Spectre) and download pictures onto a portable External Drive (My Passport Ulra) and as a safety measure, also store my photos in Onedrive. I would have pictures and my LRC backups safely stored in these 2 locations and I would run my LRC and Photoshop only on Drive C. Is this possible and how do you do it? I keep getting messed up trying to set it up. Thanks for any assistance in advance!

Hi Michael,

Thanks for reaching out. We are here to help!

Lightroom Classic's import allows you to create one copy and an additional/secondary backup copy. When you import images from a camera or SD card, Copy, Move & Copy As DNG is the only available option. You can keep the destination for Copy(Primary Copy) to the external drive (Passport Ultra in your case). Please check this article to learn more about import:https://helpx.adobe.com/in/lightroom-classic/how-to/import-photos.html

In the File Handling panel on the right side of the import window, select Make A Second Copy To(Secondary backup copies) and specify a location. This location, in your case, can be set up to wherever you have set up Onedrive to take backup of from.

Please check this article to know more: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/photo-video-import-options.html

We hope this helps you set things up.

Regards,
