LRC 11.5 cache location setting ignored

Using LRC 11.5 on a M1 Mac Mini. Changed the cache setting to the same as my library location which is on an external SSD drive. LRC is still using and filling up the Macintosh HD though. What am I doing wrong? TIA

Have a look at the info available in the article at the link below. I presume what you refer to as your library are the folders where your original image files are located?

What may be utilizing storage on your internal HD is the folder where the Lightroom Catalog and Preview files are being written to.
