LrC 12.1 import extremely slow

I have just updated LrC to 12.1 and import is now agonizingly slow and often crashes the program. In the initial install of 12 everything was blazingly fast. I have a new Dell XPS 7950 and my other programs have no issues.

I am having lots of issues since updating to 12.1.  I am struggling to use the print module, maybe due to it being slow.  But the main issue is in the Library module it is taking ages to dfo anything.  Creating/deleting folders, moving files... if I move files, it sometimes takes 10-15 minutes to start doing it, though Lightroom itself doesn't freeze, just nothing happens.

I am using windows 10,

I'm on a Mac using Lightroom Classic 12.1 on a Mac with OS 12.6.1 Monterey. I just started using this new version of LC for the first time today and exporting pictures is excruciatingly slow. I Optimized the catalog, but that didn't help. Can you suggest any other steps to try? Thanks!
