In 13.1 when you attempt to import from a Canon camera. The import button is flashing and it is updating the photo status at the bottom left corner between zero and 1 image. One square box flashing in the main grid area.

Eventually, it displays properly. I have several existing projects on the card that I haven't deleted.

1. Just start importing

Second camera, it worked as expected.

13.1

macOS 13.6.3

Wow so many up votes so quickly! This version has been out for almost a month so somebody @Adobe isn't onto this issue.

Importing is mission critical, so priority needs to be assigned accordingly. Not great to see various import bugs over the last year.

Some additional weirdness / observations.

The images coming up include those that have already been loaded even though the New Photos tab is selected at the top.

There are lots of photos so I went to get a drink, but came back and the camera must have gone to sleep. Nothing cached so have to start from the beginning again.

However, a subsequent attempt to import, the previously imported images are now showing under the New Photos tab. Doesn't make sense and is also super inefficient.

It isn't possible to highlight a range selection and then hit the check box to select whilst the images are still downloading the thumbnails. For the most recent project, you know the range. It would be great if you didn't have to wait for all the thumbnails to download before you start the real import.

I'm guessing that the protocol to pull thumbnails from the camera is pretty basic. It would be more efficient to be table to tell the camera a date range and then only download the thumbnails for those images rather than everything on the card.

Super painful waiting for images to download. I don't recall it being so slow. Tried different cables, but no signifincant difference. USB 3.1 speeds....? Is it the camera. firmware? Each image is taking just under a second to display.

There does seem to be a way to hit the Import button whilst thumbs are downloading. There's a very long redraw pause selection of checkboxes doesn't seem to appear immediately. However, even though you've clicked Import progress stays at zero, presumably because the process can't interrupt the thumbnail download process. I'm about 2 minutes of waiting on the Import screen, not a lot of feedback to explain exactly what is going on.

Just looked at the clock, it's taken 36 minutes of stuffing around for the first 95 images to start downloading. There are probably around 1000 images. I don't recall previous issues like this in the version 12 time frame. I have in the past been able to give clients a handful of good images within an hour of finishing. It isn't happening today.
