LrC 14.0.1 Doesn't recognize external drive after update - .Apple M1 Pro

I've been using lightoom for 10 years. I have an external drive that my computer can see and has all my photos of the last 4 years. A few days ago I backed up the catalog and updated LrC to the latest version. I made sure to check the external drive and have given my computer all the permissions to read and wrtie files to this drive. The drive is grayed out in LrC only. I've tried all the online suggestions. The external drive nor my catalog has not changed in anyway. Lrc sees the drive and will allow import from the drive when I switch to the import photos screen but it is not available under my usual folders tab in the LrC library.

Your second 'screenshot' (please make proper screenshots, not photos from your screen) shows a strange question mark symbol after the name of the disk. It looks like Lightroom has somehow recorded an extra character (that it cannot even display properly) in the disk name, so that explains why it shows this disk as offline: there is no disk with that name. I think you will need to 'reconnect' all the folders on that 'offline drive' to the folders on the real drive. That should make the real drive appear again, and when you reconnect the last folder, that strangely named drive should disappear. Here's how to do that. Use the part about reconnecting missing folders: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/lightroom-photos-missing-fix/

Is the drive accesable through Finder?

Did you happen to overlook a message from the computer that says something like this: "Allow Access to Attached Device?"
