LRC 15.2: drag and drop stopped working for windows

Seriously Adobe, do we need to delay updates until someone tells us no core features have been broken/removed? What is going on with quality assurance.

Since the update I can’t drag and drop to move photos or ad them to collection, this is a really serious usability impact.

And don’t even start on telling me this is by design…

How do I even add a photo to an existing collection without drag and drop?

I never looked at that menu before, so yea maybe it’s normal and not intended for filehandling, I was just trying to find an alternative because I wanted to share some files with a client by putting them into a shared collection, which does not seem possible without drag and drop.

A few restarts later it just started working again, so not really a reproducible issue, but it was very annoying.

Sounds like you are working with Smart Collections. Only normal collections support drag/drop.

Drag/Drop is not supported in Smart Collections as the collection is defined by rule(s).

I.e. it would make no sense to be able to drag a red labeled photo into a Smart collection of purple labeled photos as that would invalidate the rules of your Smart collection.

Drag & Drop is working for me. And the menu items cut, copy and paste in the Edit menu are also greyed out on my system. I think that’s ok in the library menu.

On which module you see the greyed out menu points? In the library module it is normal. In the Develop modul the Copy is enabled an you can copy and paste appropriate editing settings.

It's recommended to backup your preferences before you reset the preferences to the default settings:  https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/preference-file-and-other-file-locations.html

Even in the Edit menu cut/copy/paste are greyed out.
