LRC does not import iphone photos into proper dated folder

What do you see in he import panel? Please show a screenshot of the settings there. It should show you the import going into multiple dated folders.

That said, by FAR the best way to import photos from a phone is to import in the lightroom app on the phone and let that sync to Classic. Make sure to set up the cloud sync to sync into the same dated folder structure as you are using for your other imports (in preferences->Lightroom Sync). The direct import from phones has always been very buggy. The cloud sync works beautifully.

Thanks for the screenshots, but you still haven't answered the question I asked about how you are importing the images from your phone. Are you connecting your phone to your PC and importing that way, or do you sync your phone shots into LrClassic via the Adobe Cloud?

Assuming it's the former method, I'm guessing that you're running into a very old bug relating to importing directly from a camera via cable connection. The bug basically applies when importing into a date-based folder scheme (like yours), and what happens is that it uses the UTC time for the date of capture. In your case, where you to appear to be in North Carolina, an image shot at 20.41 on 7/29 local time using DST would translate into a UTC time/date of 02.41 on 7/30. Which is why LrC then puts that image into the 7/30 dated folder.

The usual workaround for this problem is to import from a memory card reader, which works for a standard camera but obviously fails for a phone where the photos are on the Camera Roll. You could try copying the photos from the phone to a folder on a local drive, then importing from that folder. Personally, I sync all my phone captures to my Adobe Cloud account, from where they then download into my LrC catalog into the same dated-folder system that I use for my regular camera imports. That last method is not impacted by that bug.

How are you importing? Via Adobe Cloud sync, or direct from the phones connected to your PC?

Are the images all captured with the phone camera, or are they images acquired from other sources, e.g. social media?

Can you show a screenshot of one of the misplaced images, showing the Metadata panel in Library with the "EXIF" view template selected?

Oh and before we go there, resetting PREF does NOT change anything.
