Question

LrC export generates files smaller than the original CR2 raw files.

Hi All,

I'm having an issue only with photos from one particular shoot. I'm doing nothing different than I always do, which is processing thought LrC, but my end JPEGs are too small for Adobe Stock to upload successfully.  I'm including screen shots of my export settings, the navigator window with both the raw file and the tif @200%, plus the entire photo so you can see it has not been cropped. I did take out some blemishes in Ps, but I always do that and the files more than meet Stock's minimum size requirements. Please help me 😃

FYI, I've only been doing this for about 9 months so please be gentle as I'm definitely still learning.

Thanks, in advance 😃

When you say the JPGs are too "small" for upload, in what sense do you mean that? Are you getting rejection on grounds of filesize specifically, or picture resolution, or is it something more vague?

And just in case it may be a factor: do you have any Postprocessing operation selected in that part of the Export settings - which is lower down, not seen in your screenshot.

Last, is it possible these exports were being made at a time when the camera original was considered unavailable by the Catalog? For example, if that folder had been externally renamed or moved "behind the Catalog's back" those photos would go offline so far as it was concerned. They might still remain editable, and exportable, by falling back to a Smart Preview though. That Smart Preview includes only roughly screen-resolution to export from typically much less, than the full-resolution of the camera original.

Thanks for responding.

The site says the "file size is too small" files must be at least, blah, blah, blah.

No to your last two paragraphs. I completed several images from that batch with no issues, but there are several with the file size issue. I give up!

I've kind of given up and just imported it again.  Sometimes we just have to suck it up and do the work again.  Electronics--can't live with 'em and can't live without em.

I don't use Adobe Stock, but on this help page it says:

  • Image format: JPEG
  • Color space: sRGB
  • Minimum image resolution: 4MP (megapixels)
  • Maximum image resolution: 100MP (megapixels)
  • Maximum file size: 45MB (megabytes)

Your image seems to 2048 x 1365 pixels, which is 2.79 megagpixels – less than the required 4 megapixels.

Hello All,

Something strange appears to be happening to the photos in one of my shoots. I'm tired of being confused, haha! Thank you in advance for telling me why, as I am sure someone will know? FYI: I'm doing everything as I always do, including export settings.

The first is my Cr2 and the second is edited, with dramatic differences in the files, despite virtually zero cropping.

Thanks in advance 😃

Sorry, I should have posted a screen shot instead of saying I'm doing nothing different than I ever do. LrC: This shoot is the only batch I've had this problem with, but I changed nothing at all about my process!!!

This is the problem. You really should check thoroughly your export settings for the second asset. How do you export? Lightroom, Photoshop, Bridge? Other utility?

If you are using Bridge with Adobe Camera Raw, check here:

(Footer of ACR. That parameter is sticky.)
