Question

LRC is not importing files

  1. LRC is not importing my images, it runs through the whole import process and the images are still not visible nor is the folder they are located in.
  2. The hard drive definitely still has the files.
    this has never happened before.
  3. I have re started, deleted and re added the images from SD to the hard drive.
  4. I can see the images in bridge also, just not LRC

Check this: Apple changed the security requirements in MacOS Monterey and later. Go to MacOS 'System Settings - Security & Privacy' and add Lightroom Classic to "Full Disk Access" if it is not in there yet or not enabled. See Quick Tips: How to give Full Disk Access to Lightroom Classic on macOS

Lightroom Classic thinks the photos are already in your catalog file, but in a different folder than you think they are in; and so it refuses to import them again. You need to find the photos in your Lrc Library Module. Please follow all four of these steps in LrC:

  1. Click on All Photographs (on the left, under Catalog)
  2. Turn off filters (Ctrl-L or Cmd-L once or twice)
  3. Expand all stacks (Photo->Stacking->Expand All Stacks)
  4. Use the LrC Filter bar to search for one of these photos by file name

I have done all of this but it hasnt imported them.  It is telling me that the catalog needs repairing. So I click on that option, it runs through the whole process but then comes up with the same thing in LR when it opens with the File.  I can import them into LR but I prefer to have everything through LRC and then make collections through there and use LR in that way.  (the ones in grey listed below it are not connected hard drives)

Are there any messages at the end of the import?
Where are the pictures located?

Do you copy manually from the external media to the hard drive and then import from there only?

Do you see the progress bar moving up and telling you to import and produce previews?

Please post a screen capture of the folder panel in LrC.

No messages the little bar moves as though it's copying as per normal when it completes the folder is still not there or when it is there are no files in it.
thw images are on a hard drive. there are other folders on the hard drive and they are visible.

yes I copy from SD to hard drive, then I import from the hard dive, I have also tried to copy from the sd through th import as well and it's the same result.
I will have to post a photo tomorrow.
