LRC print module no longer works - Mac Catalina and Canon Pixma 100

literally, all of sudden the print module no longer works. error log reports "no paper" and yet there is paper and other program work, including PS.  I've been troubleshooting all the actions i can think might be effective.  this includes deleting the ICC profiles, deleting old possbly conflicting files, uninstalling printer then reinstalling with current "fixes, same with LR.  This problen makes LR somewhat useless for me ... any thoughts out there?
