Question

LrC Select People Mask feature not working correctly

I have a Windows 11 PC using LrC 13.3.1 and 64 GB RAM.  Up until yesterday, the Select People Mask worked beautifully. Now, every change on a component of the mask such as face, schlera, iris and pupil, and the rest of them are GLOBAL within the mask.  It is like the system is working on the initial select people mask only instead of creating all the component of the mask to adjust manually.  I love the feature but now it appears to be broken.  Do I need to uninstall and reinstall LrC [groan]? Why did this happen?

The problem repeats despite repeated reboots and reopening of LrC. I click on the image, select the person from the images of people created, and then choose which selections to adjust. Every change is like the latter function, creating the individual components, did not materialize in the selection list [but they are there and I checked the ones I wanted] when I clicked on Create Mask. They all show up on the list but when any changes are made, the changes are global within that person's mask. If I try to adjust the schlera, for example, by increasing the exposure, the entire mask has the exposure increased.  I might as well not even try to adjust the specific components, just the mask itself. It worked fine until a couple days ago and now... it is no more than a paperweidht. I use this feature all the time, since it was added, and I thought it was a gold mine. I use it for portraits or up to 2-3 people within a photo.  What needs to be done to fix this issue?

Well, I saw the solution to my problem.  It was not a bug but rather a setting within the Select People Mask. Kristina Sherk @SharkPixel.com pointed out there was a checkbox that needed to be checked [Create X number of separate masks] which I did not see. I did it originally but somehow it became unchecked and is the reason the individual components did not work.  Once I checked it again, the feature is working just fine.

Are you accidentally selecting edits within the General Panel?
