Question

LRC update does not work, It keeps crashing!

I just updated my  Adobe Lightroom Classic. It keeps crashing. The error message tells me that I need to update my "graphics card driver".

I click on fix but either nothing happens or it takes me to a page where nothing makes sense.

I have ZERO clue as to what to do. I click on the link provided in the error message, and it takes me to some Intel page.

Intel® Driver & Support Assistant

On that page, there are instructions on how to download a driver assistant. However, some warnings say that..." this download could hurt my computer" JEEZ!!!!

I really need some help. I have no freaking clue as to what to do. I need my software to work because that's how I make my living.

The card information I can find in my computer is  Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630

How in the world do I find this driver or update and how do I install it and make it work?!?!?

I'm using windows 11 home
BTW Photoshop and all my other programs work . Only LRC!

Update-

I updated the drivers provided by Intel but still keeps crashing. Is this something that we need to expect everytime LRC updates?!
It's frustrating dealing with this issues. Wasted time, missing pay.
I have read all the solutions provided by other users but whatever I have tried does not work!!!!

If anyone has a true solution or maybe a different option to Adobe LRC please let me know.

Thanks in advance for your help on this matter.

Hey, @defaultrpgqlsn5dq89. Welcome to the Lightroom Classic Community. We're sorry for the trouble.

After updating the GPU drivers, try the steps below and check the results. The GPU info & Logs location on Windows is %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw. A shortcut to get to this folder on Windows is:

  • Press the Windows + R
  • Enter %APPDATA%\Adobe\CameraRaw

  • Rename the GPU & Logs folder in this directory by adding .old at the end. (GPU.old & Logs.old)
  • Launch Lightroom again.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

@Sameer K
Thanks, man, for the tip; however, nothing works. The program opens but immediately hangs and stops. Then the error message comes up. The same thing over and over. I'm so ready to look for a more reliable alternative. Everything else works. Lightroom seems bent on making me purchase a new computer everytime they do an update. Ridiculous.
I have no idea even if the updates I made to the Intel card actually worked.  The lightroom message keeps telling me the same thing everytime.
