LRC Ver 15.1.1 crashes after opening

Have been using LRC for more than a year with the same laptop system running on Win Home 11 (25H2). After update version to 15.1.1 in Jan 2026,  constantly experienced system crashed after opening LRC.

Tried to disable the GPU processor and update the NVIDIA driver to the latest version, even reinstalled LRC again, unable to resolve this issue. Noticed, working on LRC after each reboot, it becomes lethargic and ultimately crashed out. A search from the internet, found someone having the same exact issue, managed to stabilize the program by reverting back to LRC 15.0.1

I’ve no choice but to give a try by uninstalling the 15.1.1 version and reinstalled back 15.0.1, will monitor the condition.

Do hope this issue can be resolved as soon as possible, it really a nightmare with no confident in using the software.

Do you have tried to restore the catalog from one of the latest backups and check if Lightroom crashed also. Or create a new catalog and import several images.

Hold the Ctrl-Key while starting LrC. This opens a catalog selection dialog.

Click on “Create a New Catalog” to create a new one and see if this catalog works. If yes, you could then try to import your current catalog into the new one.

After update version to 15.1.1 in Jan 2026,  constantly experienced system crashed after opening LRC.

System crashes (meaning the whole computer stops working and has to be re-started) are caused by out-of-date/corrupted drivers, or hardware malfunctions.

Tried to disable the GPU processor and update the NVIDIA driver to the latest version, even reinstalled LRC again, unable to resolve this issue.

Did you successfully install the latest NVIDIA Studio driver? You don’t tell us, you just said you tried. What version NUMBER is it? (We need version NUMBER and not words like “latest”) Also, installing a Game-Ready driver will not necessarily be helpful.

Please go to Help->System Info and provide us the information that appears there.

    Hi,

So it’s unlikely to be a problem caused by your GPU driver. Next step is to check all of your hardware for malfunctions.
