LRC won't open

Hey today I tried to open my LRC but first it told me that my catalog couldn't open because it was already active somewhere else. When opening the app everything was gone. After reading the Adobe Support about this they told me to delete the lrcat.lock. So I did this and now I can't open my LRC at all. I only get a black banner on my desktop saying Lightroom Catalog opening but nothing else happens and the application itself won't open either.

Does anybode maybe know what the problem could be or how I could fix this?

Hey, @Paulien34189125xdak. Welcome to the Lightroom Community. I'll need more info to help you figure this out.

Do you have any cloud backup active on your machine?

Before anything, restart the machine and don't launch Lightroom Classic yet. By default, the Lightroom Catalog is created and stored in the Users > Pictures folder. Try moving the Lightroom catalog folder to another drive or location, and once the entire folder is copied, double-click on the .lrcat file to open Lightroom Classic directly, and check how it goes.

Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Hey @Sameer K Thank you so much for the advice! Once I found my catalog folder, which was suddenly moved to a OneDrive that I recently added, I copied the file to a different location. This took a very long time but my Lightroom finally opened again and I still have all my work!

Thank you for the help!
