LrCC Hangs on Import (Regression)

After the latest update, LrCC is once again hanging on any attempt to invoke the "Import" function.

The hang occurs 100% of the time and requires that the process be killed with TaskManager or Process Explorer.  This makes LrCC completely useless.

 

Lightroom also appears to be unable to close completely. Even after closing the app the Lightroom.exe process remains active and must be manually terminated.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

As usual, this is not reproducible.  Lightroom seems to intermittently do something weird if there is an SD card in the reader at launch time.  Pulling the card out and waiting until LRc is completely started before inserting it works fine, and after that it will work regardless of whether the card is in the reader. 

 

I expect this is some sort of race condition that will never be fixed.
