How does the mask slider work in LRM? Have tried holding down a couple of adjustment sliders to try and get the mask to appear without success.

On your iOS device, move the masking slider to the right. Hold down two fingers on the masking slider to reveal the black & white mask.

And always apply sharpening and noise reduction at 1:1 view.

Any other view (like Fit view) will be inaccurate and misleading because the image has been scaled.

I suppose you mean the Masking slider in the Detail panel?

Hold down the Alt key (Option on a Mac) while dragging the slider. White areas will be sharpened, black areas will not.

Using the Alt key also helps to visualize the effect of the Radius and Detail sliders.

With the Amount slider, the image turns into black & white when pressing Alt, which makes it a lot easier to see noise and sharpening artifacts.
