Hi

I was cleaning out an unrelated art folder that had a mysterious 40 GIG (thousands and thousands of folders within folders) that I began to delete later realizing that these are LIGHTROOM related folders. Now the program isnt starting. I have NO IDEA why all these lightroom files were writtien in this art folder that has nothing to do with lightroom. Any idea if I have ruined LR? It is not loading!! thanks for any answers

From the description it sounds like Lightroom previews. However, deleting previews will not prevent Lightroom from starting if the previews are missing, LR just creates them again.

Previews are normally stored in a folder with the same name as your catalog, except where the catalog name ends with the suffix ".lrcat," the previews folder ends with the suffix ".lrpreview."

Within the preview folder are the previews generated when you import, view, or work on your images; they are typically retired after 30 days. The folder is a seemingly bottomless tree of cryptically named subfolders, eventually containing the preview image.

None of this, as I mentioned, should prevent LR from starting. Perhaps you have another issue' can you provide more details of what happens when you launch LR? Please also provide the version of LR you're using, and what OS and version you're running.
