Luminance masking with -100 White slider

If one applies a -100 white slider adjustment using luminance masking the whites go grey when compared with using the basic panel with a -100 white slider adjustment.  The luminance masking has NO range set to limit the mask.  All other basic sliders match when using either masking or basic panel except the white slider!
