Lightroom Classic v13.2

macOS Sonoma v14.5

Camera = Lumix G9M2 firmware v2.1

I was exploring video capture with my new Lumix G9M2. While all of the stills I took imported into LrC v13.2 with the correct Capture date/time, all of the videos imported with a Capture date/time 8 hours off. So, what should have been May 24, 15:58:30, for example (a time shortly after the still image of the same scene) the Capture in Lightroom Classic v13.2 from this camera displayed as May 24, 23:58:30. A capture time that should have been May 24, 17:08:45 arrived in LrC as May 25, 01:08:45.

A Lumix Firmware problem (v2.1 on my G9M2), or a LrC v13.2 problem? Since the video file time stamp as seen in the camera and in macOS Finder is correct, I would start by guessing Lightroom Classic v13.2 is having trouble inperpreting the data.

At least it is fairly easy to edit the video capture time, since it is 8 hours. That time offset is interesting, since UTC is 8 hours ahead of Alaska Daylight Time. Yes, my camera clock is set to my Alaska Daylight Time and not UTC. All the photos had the correct time ADT. The videos all did not.

This is a known issue, caused by poor video standards. Videos from some cameras import with the correct capture date, videos from other cameras import with a time zone shift, and videos from some cameras import with a capture date of 01-01-1904. You can solve it (until Adobe finally solves it) by using the 'Metadata - Edit Capure Date' menu and choose the File Creation Date. See also (and add your vote):

Thank you, Johan. Glad (I guess) to know I am not alone. Yes, having an
exact 8 hour offset makes correcting the Capture Time easy.

I discovered the 01/01/1904 issue in another (non-Adobe) app I used to
convert the MOV files to mp4 for another use.
