Question

Mac LrC does not 'see' .jpg files with macl file attribute

I have a Mac M2 Pro Mini running Sonoma with LrC.  Recently a friend emailed me a .jpg file.  I tried to import it into LrC, but when I selected the appropriate folder, it said "no files found."  I eventually determined that LrC will not open files with a macl file attribute.  I tried removing the attribute, but the Mac put it back.  I copied the file to a .xxx extension and removed the attribute; it stayed removed, but LrC couldn't find the file.

I've never had this problem before with .jpg files, but LrC simply doesn't import the file, even though I can see it clearly in Mac Preview.  I've now discovered quite a few .jpg files that LrC refuses to read.

This blog post explains what the macl attribute is and why the file won't import, etc. I've no idea how you can fix ith though.
