If you are using a version of Lightroom that you purchased and you feel that you "own" then you are not using Lightroom Classic. Lightroom Classic has only been available by subscription only, and has been the model Adobe adopted several years ago after notifying its customer base well in advance. There is no version of Lightroom that can be purchased anymore. The only way one can acquire and use Lightroom Classic is to subscribe on an annual basis. If this is intolerable, it is only intolerable to you as an individual. It has been widely successful to Adobe as a company, and has been widely accepted by the Adobe customer base.

"I own a version of LRC that I paid for."

Well you cannot "own" LrC, and to use LrC you must pay a Monthly or Annual subscription.

You can determine your Version of Lightroom from the MENU: Help > System Info...

Sounds like you have the 'old' perpetual Version, maybe v6.14?

If you have a question that other Community users may be able to answer and help you with, please post it here. (We are not Adobe in this forum!)
