Question

Make Backups of selected RAWs and Edits

I mark all the RAW files that I export as JPEG. Now, I'd like to export only these marked RAWs and their edits to a backup medium. The result should be a folder, containing only those marked RAWs and a Lightroom catalogue with the edits that I did to them. I seem to be unable to come up with an easy way of doing this.

Thanks for any hints

Select the desired photos, then File->Export as Catalog, and in the dialog box check "Export Negative Files" (that's how Adobe refers to the original photos). The result is an export with original images and catalog.

I think it is poor practice to make backups of SOME of your photos. If you are going to keep a photo, it needs to be backed up. Make backups of ALL of your photos, and make backup of ALL of your catalogs.

Yes, of course! Export as catalog is even simpler.

What you could do is export these raw files as original. That will save them with an XMP sidecar file containing the edits. Then create a new catalog, and import these images.
