Question

Map Module not placing the location icon where I drop it.

LR 9.1, Win 10.

I had a bunch of pictures where I wanted to tweek their gps locations. When I dragged one photo from the bottom strip to a place on the map it pops over to the right about 1.5 inches. It's actual gps location changed in the exif. If I subsiquently grab it I can then drag it to the correct spot.  If you try to drag multiple images to a point on the map the same thing happens.  At this point you can't just drag the multiple images to the correct location. When you hover over the multiple images map icon one of the images will display on the map. If you try to drop the displayed image to the corrrect location it incorrectly pops to the right.

This sounds like a problem that cropped up in the past. It looks like it returned.

I'm using a 3840 x 2160 Monitor.  Didn't have problems before. It's troubling that this problem has been around for so long. Adobe should realize that large hi res monitors are becomming commonplace because prices are dropping. More customers will be using them.

This bug has been outstanding for at least three years. Adobe has acknowledged it but chosen not to fix it (yet):

Please add your constructive opinion to the bug report, and be sure to click Me Too and Follow in the upper-right corner. That will make it a little more likely that Adobe will prioritize a fix, and you'll be notified when the bug's status changes.

You can try setting Preferences > Interface > Font Size  to 100%.  Also, see this reply for other workarounds:

I'm seeing the same thing on my Dell XPS-15 laptop. I didn't follow earlier reports of this happening but it appears it may be related to high resolution displays and display maginification.  My XPS-15 has a UHD display and switching resolution or magnification does change what happens in the map module.  Hope Adobe gets this fixed soon. It's kind of a pain.
