Masking tool in Lightroom Classic is making the selection blue. It's not the color of the overlay

When I use any masking tool in Lightroom Classic on my Macbook, the selected part turns blue. I notice alsio that the temperature suddenly is set back to minus 7. When I correct that to zero, the problem is not solved. The selction is still blue. It' s not caused by the color of the overlay. that I set on red. Could anyone help me please?

Enable the checkbox 'Regelaars automatisch resetten' and then try again with a new mask. You probably added a color overlay in some previous mask, and because that doesn't get reset, it is now added to every new mask.

I notice that in your Histogram you have the clipping indicator turned on, specifically under exposure. And that clipping indicator uses blue, and that in the masked area you are seeing a lot of blue. Is that clipping being indicated?

In the Histogram, turn that clipping inicator off. Any difference?

Likely the darker hair/fur on the animals.

No, those are not clipped pixels. The indicator is marked, meaning it will show clipped pixels in blue if there are clipped pixels, but it does not show a (white or colored) triangle inside it, so there aren't any.

Actually, you can see what causes this blue color cast! I overlooked it myself too. Look at the Temperature slider. It is set to -7, which means it adds a light blue color...
