Is there an maximum number of images contained in a folder that can be imported in LR Classic at one, it seem like if i have more that 1000 pictures in a folder Classic hangs, i now have to break those files in subfolder , i never used to have issues with importing large folder prior, did you change something. If so please fix this issue,  i shoot events and sessions that typically are more that 1000 images in a folder.

What version of Lightroom? There was an earlier version of LR 6/2015 that had a hanging bug with large imports. Check and report the actual version.

I have to say your computer has some type of hardware fault. Could be overheating.

As I posted above I lust imported 3151 images in about 15-20 minutes and had no hangs or slow down of my system.

If Lightroom hangs ... please explain at what step in the process you get this problem.

If you use keywords to identify your events and sessions, then it doesn't matter what folders the photos are in.

Basically i create a folder for each event i shoot and all images from the event (Canon CR2 Files)  are stored in the folder, if i have more than a 1000 files, when i try to import in LR so that i can process them , LR simply hangs , if i go back and break that folder into 2 smaller sub folders (About 500 images) nested in the original folder, LR imports all image without issue , it's just driving me crazy having to create sub-folder of 500 images, if i have an event i shoot 2000 frames at

No need to break the folder apart into 2. Just don't select all the images in that folder when importing.

I've never imported that many images at one time so I have no first hand knowledge with importing that many images at one time.

But I'm going to start a new catalog and import 1000+ from my hard drive just to test.

Is your Use Graphics Processor checked in preferences>performance? Try unchecking it. There isn't a limit on the number of images you can have in a catalog or folder. Optimizing your catalog may be helpful as well. Optimize Lightroom performance
